Some basic factory coilovers are not designed to be rebuilt - see our FAQ on shock rebuilding for more info - but when most motorbike shock absorber components are worn out you can rebuild them yourself with overhaul kits from Teknik Motorsports. We stock genuine KYB, Showa & WP shock servicing sets that include consumables such as a gas bladder, seal head, bumper, piston band and rubber o-rings. Damage or oil leaks are obvious signs; if your bike clunks over bumps or keeps bouncing inspect and repair. If leaking, an oil change will not help - regas after servicing with our regassing tools or book our suspension workshop. If the rear linkage feels stiff or crunchy see servicing your linkage bearings.
