If your seat is too tall to ride comfortably it can be lowered slightly without ruining your damping or your wallet. While rear lowering links can drop the back easily, it changes the bike's geometry and your riding experience. These complete lowering kits for both forks and shocks make sure it rides as the factory intended, not pointing you up at the sky.

You need to open the motorbike's front fork legs and rear shock absorber to fit the billet alloy spacers - these stops limit the damper travel to a lower height. Most sets also include a shorter kickstand, which many people forget about till they try to use the bike and can't park it! Although these assemblies are more specialised to fit than a DIY dropped link, they are more comfortable and comprehensive, and easy to include when servicing your suspension anyway.

Once you've lowered your suspension you will need to tune your damping to suit - there is now less travel to absorb those bumps, so you need to turn up the compression and rebound clickers to compensate. Your sag will have changed now too - use our free suspension setup tips to make sure you get it working at it's best.
