Motorcycle Fork Adjuster Parts

Many motorbikes - especially offroad or sports bikes - have adjustable damping suspension. If you've never touched yours, see our damping adjuster article for the basics. Adjusters mean you can tune your settings for racing or for comfort by getting the front end to react well to that particular terrain. If you're pushing through sand, you aren't getting the same forces as bouncing off tree roots and rocks, and you need to adjust your fork legs to match - for what to tune on what surface check our suspension setup tips.

Rebound clickers are traditionally at the base, inside the bottom axle lug and attached to the inner cartridge rod; if you are looking for other parts you should check out our Cartridge Rod Parts section.

Many newer bikes however feature "Split Function Forks" - where comp damping is handled by only one leg and reb damping by the other - meaning both adjusters are up the top on the caps. This is especially true for air forks and it's a nice change not having to crouch down awkwardly in the mud while spinning tools!
