Motorcycle Shock Gas Bladder End Caps

Motorbikes with piggyback-style shock absorbers sometimes have an internal floating piston (IFP) that separates oil & nitrogen - but much more commonly - a rubber bladder reservoir that holds the gas separately. This heavy duty little balloon is less prone to leaking than the seals of separating pistons, so most OEM rear dampers use them in the piggy back chamber - learn more about shock layouts.

The bladders each use one of these sealing alloy end caps, which keep dirt out, resist stone strikes and help dissipate heat, usually held into the shock body with a retaining c-clip.
They come in a massive variety of shapes & sizes - but remember we also carry a huge range of bladder & cap upgrades too - like high capacity kits for plusher initial damping, shorter caps for more wheel clearance, bladder conversion kits for IFP shocks, all in a range of spectacular anodized colours!

All caps feature air ports so you can regas the shock after a suspension rebuild, with some models using a rubber bung that gets pierced by a regassing needle, while others have easy to refill schrader (tyre) valves. Our gassing tools have pressure gauges & adaptors so you can nitrogen charge your own shocks.

We have all stock servicing components such as seals & o-rings too. Remember that once your coilover is back together you still need to tune it for your riding to get the most comfort & speed.
