Fork Compression Assembly Parts

If your motorbike has modern "Separate Function Forks", you probably have a comp adjustment clicker on one top cap & reb on the other, but for many adjustable designs both caps have compression damping adjusters - learn more about open or closed chamber front forks. If you've never adjusted your dampers, read our clickers article — they control how much suspension oil flows.

Compression adjuster assemblies for precise fork damping

  • Fine-tune compression damping with top-cap clickers and bleed screws
  • Replace or rebuild compact clicker assemblies, O-rings and centre shafts
  • Alter Inner Chamber Spring strength to change initial plushness
  • Upgrade valving with free pistons, shim stacks and revalving kits

Adjuster assemblies are compact but complex: top caps house the clicker assembly and bleed screw, sealed to the fork tube; a centre shaft carries a free piston with inner and outer seals plus bushes. Comp valving uses shims, washers and a pushrod that compresses the piston stack. If you need small parts or upgrades see Fork Adjuster Parts, clicker knobs, free pistons and revalving kits.
