Fork Cartridge Rebound Base Tower Lock Nut

Motorbike front forks contain an internal cartridge that does the damping work, and the fork cartridge rod is the sliding centre shaft that links the rebound damping piston to the cartridge. At the top of that hollow shaft is the rebound piston base tower, these specially shaped nuts fasten the main (rebound) piston to the rebound tower. Because of the tolerances and torque, jam nuts are best replaced at every suspension rebuild.
