This service converts selected TracTive suspension components into TracTive by Teknik units through a set of engineering and valving changes developed specifically for Australian adventure riding conditions. The work applies to TracTive fork cartridges and rear shocks and is intended for riders who regularly carry luggage, ride off-road terrain, or operate outside the assumptions of European and North American touring use.

Why This Service Exists

TracTive suspension is engineered primarily for long-distance road, gravel and light off-road use where wheels remain largely in contact with the ground. Australian adventure riding places different demands on suspension, including higher impact loads, repeated square-edge hits and sustained off-road use with luggage. In these conditions, stock TracTive settings — including X-Treme PRO variants — are often not optimised for control, compliance or long-term ride quality.

What’s Included

• Revision of compression and rebound valving to suit Australian terrain and load conditions
• Additional compression piston added to fork cartridges where applicable
• Replacement of alloy shock main piston with steel piston in selected applications
• Teknik-designed and manufactured rebound needle for rear shocks
• Revision or replacement of low-speed and high-speed compression adjusters
• Installation of felt seals in shock end-eye bearings
• Replacement of end-eye bearings with heavy-duty versions where required
• Resealing of shock rebound adjuster mechanisms

In addition to in-house conversions, TracTive currently manufacture selected shock models using Teknik-developed settings from new. These configurations are built to our specification and are intended for specific Australian applications.

Setup and Expectations

This service is not a cosmetic modification or a simple shim change. Each TracTive by Teknik conversion is based on accumulated testing, field experience and in-house R&D carried out on TracTive, Touratech and Rally Raid suspension over a number of years. Final performance is influenced by motorcycle model, rider weight, luggage load and intended use, and we test and assess each unit to ensure the changes are appropriate for the application.

Warranty and Ongoing Support

All TracTive by Teknik work is covered by a 12-month warranty on workmanship. Performance support is ongoing, and we are happy to discuss setup, usage and suitability before or after the service to ensure expectations are aligned.
