Most modern motorbike forks have a damping cartridge sitting inside their outer tubes. The internal suspension oil can either be shared with the rest of the fork leg (open chamber), or can be separately sealed (closed chamber), and you can read more in our Closed vs Open Chamber Forks technical article.

Service, repair and upgrade fork cartridges

• Replace Compression Adjuster groups, fork caps and cartridge rod assemblies for correct damping
• Renew inner seals, bushings, cylinders, tubes and perches during full rebuilds
• Fit spacers, spring perches and coil spring hardware to set preload and ride height
• Install adjustable cartridge kits for improved tunability and track performance
