Motorcycle Fork Bare Cartridge Rods

Motorbike front forks aren't just the two outer tubes you see - there's a separate internal cartridge doing the real work. Our closed vs open chamber article explains more - but sliding in the middle of that cartridge, with a reb adjuster assembly on the bottom & damping piston parts up top, is a fork cartridge rod.

These genuine KYB & Showa OEM alloy shafts are sold naked, but the rebound piston holder tower screwed on top and the damping piston parts locked to that are available separately - or you can save time & money buying a pre-assembled replacement complete fork cartridge rod.

The clicker in the lower fork leg presses on the inner pushrod which adjusts the flow of oil through the piston & shim stack on the end of the rod - learn how to use them in our damping adjusters article.
