Rebound Base Tower / Post

Motorbike front forks are more than the two outer tubes — a separate internal cartridge does the work. A cartridge rod slides inside that cartridge, and at the top of a cartridge rod assembly sits the piston holder tower or rebound base post which secures piston parts and valving stacks.

Function of Rebound Base Towers

Holds the rebound piston parts and valving shim stacks on the threaded upper post portion using a mechanical locknut.
Transmits clicker adjustments from the axle feet to the valving stack via the hollow cartridge shaft and inner pushrod.
Enables precise rebound damping by changing oil flow and damper resistance.
Provides a serviceable mounting point for piston components during revalving or rebuilds.
