Motorcycle Shock Gas Bladder End Caps

Teknik Shock Bladder Caps

Shock Bladder Caps

Motorbikes with piggyback-style shock absorbers sometimes use an internal floating piston (IFP) to separate oil and nitrogen, but more commonly a rubber bladder reservoir holds the gas separately. This heavy duty balloon is less prone to leaking than piston seals, so most OEM rear dampers use them in the piggyback chamber — learn more about shock layouts. The bladders use sealing alloy end caps that keep dirt out, resist stone strikes and help dissipate heat, usually retained with a retaining c-clip. We stock a wide range of bladder and cap upgrades, high capacity kits, shorter caps for clearance and conversion kits for IFP shocks. All caps feature air ports for regassing — some use a rubber bung, others schrader valves — and our gassing tools make nitrogen charging straightforward. We also carry seals, o-rings and setup advice in our technical guides.
