Shock Spring Retainer & Bumper Parts

At the bottom end of a motorbike's shock absorber there needs to be a way to attach the coil spring to the shock shaft - and this assembly needs to hold the bottoming rubber safely in place too.

Secure spring retention and controlled bottoming for coilover shocks

  • Keeps the conical bumper positioned around the main shaft for predictable bottoming
  • Spring lock rings retain the coil and keep it concentric around the damper
  • Perch seats distribute pressure evenly and can act as preload spacers

A holder cup around the main shaft holds the conical bumper, with a spring lock ring (shaped like a big c-clip) sat on top to retain the spring and keep it concentric around the damper. See our article on replacing shock springs for a better idea.
