Motorcycle Shock Rebound Adjuster Pushrods

Teknik Shock Rebound Pushrod

Shock Rebound Pushrod

Right in the centre of your motorbike's coilover is the main damping shaft. At the top end it holds the piston inside the shock absorber body while at the bottom end it screws onto the Clevis or Yoke. Damper shafts look simple, but are full of inner components - the rebound adjuster presses on a pushrod that slides around inside that main shock shaft, with tiny guide collars, bushings, o-rings, spacers, clips and an angled end needle used to adjust valve pressure. These KYB & Showa OEM reb push rods can be installed with internals into our bare hard chromed rods. We also stock assembled replacement damping rods with bushes & guides, or full shaft & eye assemblies to rebuild rear shocks quicker. If your dampers are rebuildable see our FAQ on shock servicing and the DIY damping adjustment guide.

Role of the Rebound Pushrod in Shock Damping

  • Transmits rebound adjuster clicks to the internal valve for precise damping control
  • Accommodates guide collars, bushings, o-rings, spacers and needles that set rebound characteristics
  • Enables repair or upgrade with KYB & Showa OEM reb push rods or bare chromed shafts
  • Simplifies rebuilds when paired with assembled damping rods or full shaft and eye assemblies

Recommended Pairings

Consider matching your rebound pushrod work with Suspension Tools for accurate assembly and clicker setup.
