Motorcycle Bare Shock Shafts

Teknik Shock Shaft Naked

Shock Shaft Naked

Right in the centre of your motorbike's coilover is the main damping shaft. At the top end it holds the piston inside the shock absorber body while at the bottom end it screws onto the clevis or yoke. The hard chromed damper shaft looks simple but contains inner components: the rebound adjuster presses on a pushrod that slides inside the main damping rod with tiny guides, bushes, o-rings, spacers, clips and an angled end needle used to adjust valve pressure.

Purpose and use-case for Shock Shaft Naked

  • Replace a damaged or corroded outer damper rod with a bare OEM shock shaft
  • Buy an empty steel outer tube when you already have or will fit the small internal parts
  • Source compatible lower attachment lug (clevis or yoke) and rebound clicker separately
  • Match shaft replacement with new mounting bearings and seals for smooth linkage movement

Recommended Pairings

Consider matching with Suspension Tools and our inner rebound parts, the lower attachment lug, mounting bearings parts and our guide to regular servicing.
