But when that shock is wedged tight between the rear wheel & gearbox, tucked deep inside a spiderweb of chassis frame, it's intensely frustrating to spin those bendy preload wrenches a fraction of a turn at a time. On your knees. In the mud. By the side of the road. Hmph.
So imagine a preload adjuster that tunes itself! On the fly! They plug straight into BMW's ESA system.
EPA assemblies thread onto Tractive's aftermarket shock absorber bodies the same way a traditional castellated spring nut does, but ESA brains using hydraulic pressure expand or contract the spring seat. Available in two styles; remote mounted canister generation 1 versions use a fluid hose, while these generation 2 versions are combined into one single unit where there is space around the shock absorber.
