The Lainer Suspension spring retainer is a replacement part for WP linkage shock assemblies on 2023–2024 models. It supports correct spring location on the shock body and is typically fitted during shock servicing when the original retainer shows wear or damage. Use it when spring seating is compromised; it is not required as a routine change if the existing retainer is in good condition.

Built For Real-World Suspension

A spring retainer helps keep the shock spring correctly seated under load and through full travel. If the retainer is bent, cracked, heavily marked, or no longer locates the spring cleanly, it can contribute to misalignment and inconsistent operation during servicing and reassembly.

Setup Considerations

This retainer is described as 3 mm taller than stock to reduce bottom out. Any change in installed height can affect available clearance and how the shock approaches full compression, so confirm suitability for your specific shock and service configuration before final assembly.

Serviceability

Replace during a rebuild if the retainer is worn, deformed, damaged, or the spring does not sit squarely.
Retain the existing part if it is undamaged, seats the spring correctly, and shows no signs of abnormal contact.
