The Lainer Suspension rebound stopper is designed for KTM EXC models equipped with WP PDS shock systems from 2024 onwards. It is intended to control the final part of shock extension to help reduce harsh top-out behaviour and impact stress on suspension components. This is a bolt-in style part used to support consistent suspension function in demanding off-road conditions.

Inside the System

A rebound stopper is an elastomer-style insert that limits extension at the end of the shock stroke. By managing the last part of rebound travel, it can reduce top-out shock and the associated loading on internal and mounting components. It does not replace correct shock servicing or setup, but can be used as a supplementary control component where applicable.

Setup & Workshop Notes

This part is described as fitting into the linkage shock bolt on the bike’s frame. It should be installed during routine workshop work where access is available and the bike can be supported safely. If you are chasing changes in damping behaviour through the main stroke, address spring rate, valving and oil condition first—this component is specifically about end-of-extension behaviour.

Serviceability

Consider replacing a rebound stopper when it shows visible wear, cracking, deformation, or if top-out harshness returns after other suspension issues have been addressed. It should not be used to mask problems such as incorrect spring rate, worn shock bearings, or a shock in need of a rebuild. If there is no top-out concern and the existing component is in good condition, replacement may not be necessary.
