The TracTive X-TREME closed-cartridge kit is designed to improve damping control and consistency on the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R while retaining comfort for long-distance use. It installs into the original fork legs without machining, using a sealed cartridge design with its own damping oil to deliver stable performance across varying temperatures and conditions.

What This Kit Does

Replaces the stock damping system with a closed-cartridge design for improved control
Provides external adjustment for rebound and compression damping (separate legs)
Includes manual spring preload adjustment at the fork caps

Design Notes

Closed-cartridge forks behave more like a pressurised damper inside the fork leg, which can improve damping stability under sustained off-road use. TracTive specify a large piston diameter (35 mm) to support high oil flow and consistent damping behaviour, and the design is serviceable so the damping can be tuned to rider weight, load and intended terrain.
