The TracTive X-PERIENCE + HPA rear shock for the BMW R nineT Urban G/S (2016–2020) is a closed, pressurised monotube design with an internal separation piston to keep the oil and gas separated for consistent damping. This Long Travel version increases ride height by approximately +70 mm, altering chassis attitude and available suspension travel. It is built around a 46 mm shock body and is intended for riders who want a more off-road-capable setup while maintaining controlled road behaviour.

Base Setup (factory preset)

This shock is supplied with a baseline damping setup from TracTive intended to be a workable starting point. Final settings should be dialled in for rider mass, load, tyre choice and the intended mix of sealed and unsealed riding.

Before You Install

  • Confirm the +70 mm ride height change suits your intended handling and ergonomics
  • Check for adequate clearance and correct routing/mounting for the hydraulic preload adjuster
  • After installation, verify static and rider sag and then fine-tune damping to match the new geometry

Serviceability/Lifecycle

As a sealed, pressurised shock, service work requires appropriate suspension tools and procedures. Regular servicing helps maintain damping consistency over time, especially with frequent off-road or long-distance use.

Is It Right For You?

Choose this configuration if you want long-travel capability and quick preload changes for varying loads, while retaining broad damping control through triple adjustment. If you do not want a significant ride height increase, a standard-travel option may be more appropriate.

This TracTive product has been assembled with the utmost care and tested according to ISO9001:2015 Quality system. In the unlikely event that the product does not fulfill your expectations because of faulty materials or manufacturing errors, please contact us through your dealer.

Teknik Motorsport Pty Ltd warrants that if, within 24 months of the date of sale the product is found to be defective as a result of manufacturing errors or faulty components, the product will be repaired free of charge by us, or by a TracTive approved repairer at our discretion.

Warranty covers the direct service material cost, service labour cost ($80/hr AUD) and shipping costs of the service partner. Other costs will be regarded on a case by case basis by Teknik Motorsport and TracTive.

 When a claim is made under the warranty, the following conditions have to be met:

  • You must have read the instructions carefully before mounting the product in the vehicle or adjusting the product.
  • The product has to be installed and adjusted as described in the instructions
  • The product must have been maintained and serviced in accordance with the recommendations in the manual. If not described in the manual, the recommended service intervals for regular street use: every 30.000 km or max 2 years, whichever is earlier.
  • Warranty shall apply only when TracTive original parts, procedures and tools have been used to service and/or repair, and if service and repair is performed by designated TracTive partners.
  • The product may not have been neglected, improperly used, altered or subjected to excessive loads. Excluded from warranty are normal wear, damage and rust.
  • A sales receipt or other proof of purchase originally eminating from Teknik Motorsport Pty Ltd. No warranty will be given on TracTive or Touratech products not purchased from or through Teknik Motorsport pty ltd.
  • Excluded from warranty are in particular products which are used in vehicles that are intended or suitable for taking part in sporting events, or have actually been used this way.
  • Recommended service interval for Motorsport applications: every season, or every 50 hours, every 10.000km or after any perceived loss in performance.
