Lainer PDS-2 Progressive Damping System – KYB 48mm Forks

The Lainer Suspension PDS-2 Progressive Damping System is designed to improve bottoming resistance and end-of-stroke support in KYB 48mm forks without requiring an excessively firm base suspension setting.

Unlike a conventional cartridge valving change, the PDS-2 manages oil flow outside the fork cartridge, providing an additional hydraulic control system that becomes increasingly influential as the fork moves through its travel. This allows the main fork damping to remain compliant through smaller bumps and general riding while providing additional support deeper in the stroke.

Adjustable Progressive Damping

The PDS-2 incorporates two separate adjustment systems. The upper valve provides four compression-flow positions, while the lower valve features a five-position adjustment ring to regulate oil transfer through the fork.

Adjusting the lower valve changes the level of hydraulic resistance, particularly toward the end of the stroke.
