The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for the BMW K 1200 S and K 1300 S is built to improve damping control and chassis stability for road riding. It uses a gas-pressurised, oil/gas separated design to maintain consistent performance as conditions change. Valving and damping response are tuned to give clearer feedback and more predictable grip.

Developed from Ohlins race-program experience, the STX 46 Street platform focuses on controlled wheel movement and stability under load. The aim is confidence and consistency rather than harshness, with damping behaviour that supports traction through braking, turning and acceleration.

Shock design & features

This is a rear mono shock with a pressurised internal architecture that separates oil and gas for more stable damping during sustained use. The design supports fast response to road inputs and helps the rear tyre stay in contact with the surface for improved control.

Tuning controls

Adjustability is provided for rebound damping and compression damping, allowing you to tailor the feel for load, road quality and riding pace. These external controls let you refine support and compliance without changing internal components.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is supplied with an Ohlins baseline setting intended to work as a solid starting point for typical street use. From there, small changes to compression and rebound can be used to balance comfort, grip and chassis attitude to suit your preference.
