The Lainer WP 48 Xplor Xact Fork Upgrade Kit is designed for WP Xplor fork systems used on KTM and Husqvarna models from 2017 onwards. It focuses on improving compression-side hydraulic control where the stock piston is supplied without shims and with limited hydraulic control. This kit is typically used during a fork rebuild or as a targeted upgrade to refine damping behaviour.

Inside the System

This kit replaces the stock piston/adjuster arrangement to provide improved hydraulic control in the compression circuit. By changing how oil flow is managed through the mid-valve compression function, it is intended to increase control earlier in the stroke and deliver more consistent damping behaviour.

Adjustment & Setup

Adjuster direction differs by model year. For 2017 models, the adjuster works counterclockwise to stiffen (harden) and clockwise to soften. From 2018 onwards, the adjuster is clockwise to stiffen; a decal is included for 2017 model caps.

  • Designed for WP Xplor fork systems (WP 48 Xplor Xact).
  • KTM and Husqvarna applications from 2017 onwards (model list provided in the original notes).
  • Application notes listed: 250/300 EXC TPI SIX DAYS 2017-20; 150/250/300 EXC TPI 2017-20; 250/350/450/500 EXC-F SIX DAYS 2017-20; 350/450/500 EXC-F 2017-20.

Setup & Workshop Notes

This is a fork internal component intended for installation during disassembly, such as during routine servicing or a performance-oriented revalve. Replace or fit this type of part when addressing limited compression control from the OEM piston/adjuster arrangement, or when rebuilding the fork and updating the compression circuit. It is not required for routine external adjustment changes, and should not be installed without proper fork service procedures.

Serviceability

As a valving/adjuster-related internal upgrade, inspection is typically carried out when the fork is opened for servicing. If fork performance concerns are linked to oil condition, bushings, seals, or general wear, address those service items first rather than changing valving parts unnecessarily.
