Tuning controls

The shock provides adjustment to tailor feel and response to rider preference and conditions. Compression and rebound damping are independently adjustable, allowing you to separate support (compression) from recovery and grip feel (rebound) when tuning. This makes it easier to dial in stability, comfort and tyre contact on real roads.

Base setup (factory preset)

Ohlins units are supplied with a factory baseline intended to suit typical street use. From this starting point, small, measured changes to damping and spring preload are usually all that’s required to match your weight, tyres and riding style. Keeping notes as you tune helps you return to a known-good setting.

Before you install

Confirm the application details for your model and year, and inspect linkage bearings and mounting hardware while the shock is off the bike. A correct spring preload setup and sensible damping balance are key to getting the best from the unit. If the existing suspension has wear elsewhere in the system, address that first so changes you feel are coming from the shock, not the chassis.
