The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for Yamaha XV 1900A Midnight Star is built to improve control and consistency in real-world street riding. It uses a pressurised damping system to help maintain stable damping behaviour as conditions change. Designed as a direct replacement rear unit, it supports more precise setup than a basic OE-style shock.

This unit is supplied with an Ohlins baseline setting intended to be ridden as delivered, then refined to suit rider weight, typical road surface and loading. Start from the factory settings and make one change at a time so you can feel what each adjustment does.

Before you install

Confirm fitment for Yamaha XV 1900A Midnight Star and check clearances at full suspension travel.
Set sag and preload first, then fine-tune rebound damping to control return speed without packing down.
If your bike is used two-up or with luggage, plan on rechecking preload and damping after changing load.

Serviceability/lifecycle
