The Tractive X-TREME rear shock for the Husqvarna Norden 901 uses a closed, pressurised damper architecture with oil and gas separated for consistent damping and reduced aeration. This is a lowered configuration, changing rear ride height by 35 mm. It’s built around external adjustment and a spring preload adjuster to support setup changes for load and conditions.

Design & features

  • Closed, pressurised construction with separated oil and gas to help maintain damping consistency under demanding use
  • Lowered shock configuration for a 35 mm reduction in ride height
  • Remote reservoir design to manage damping performance and oil volume
  • Supplied with a spring and an external hydraulic preload adjuster (HPA)

Tuning Controls

  • Triple adjustable damping: rebound, plus both compression circuits (separate high-speed and low-speed compression adjustment)
  • Hydraulic preload adjuster (HPA) for tool-free preload changes

Who is this for?

  • Riders who want a lowered rear ride height on a Norden 901 while retaining broad, external damping adjustability
  • Owners who regularly vary luggage or passenger load and want quick preload changes via HPA
  • Those looking for a pressurised, separated oil/gas shock layout for stable performance over long rides

Base Setup (factory preset)

This shock is supplied with a factory baseline setup intended as a starting point. Fine-tuning is performed using the external rebound and compression adjusters, with preload set via the hydraulic adjuster to suit rider weight and load.

Before You Install

  • Confirm the motorcycle model and intended lowered ride-height requirement before installation
  • After installation, check static and rider sag and adjust preload accordingly
  • Following the 35 mm height change, review side stand stability and overall chassis balance

Serviceability/Lifecycle

The closed, pressurised design is intended to support consistent damping over time and is serviceable to restore performance as wear items age. Regular inspection for leaks or damage and periodic servicing helps maintain damping quality and adjustment function.
