The Tractive X-TREME Shock for the BMW R 1250 GS is a closed, pressurised rear shock built around a sealed damper design for consistent damping under mixed conditions. This configuration keeps the damping oil and gas properly managed to reduce fade during sustained use. It is a manually adjustable shock with external reservoir architecture.

Base Setup (factory preset)
This shock is supplied with a baseline setup from Tractive intended as a starting point. Fine-tuning should be completed to suit rider weight, luggage/passenger load, and intended terrain.
Before You Install
- Confirm model fitment for your BMW R 1250 GS and your intended riding load (solo, luggage, passenger)
- Inspect linkage and mounting hardware condition prior to installation
- After installation, set sag and then adjust damping in small steps to match your conditions
Serviceability/Lifecycle
As a sealed, pressurised shock with an external reservoir, periodic servicing is recommended to maintain performance over time. Service needs depend on use, operating environment, and kilometres travelled.
Teknik Motorsport Pty Ltd Warranty terms for TracTive products.
This TracTive product has been assembled with the utmost care and tested according to ISO9001:2015 Quality system. In the unlikely event that the product does not fulfill your expectations because of faulty materials or manufacturing errors, please contact us through your dealer.
Teknik Motorsport Pty Ltd warrants that if, within 24 months of the date of sale the product is found to be defective as a result of manufacturing errors or faulty components, the product will be repaired free of charge by us, or by a TracTive approved repairer at our discretion.
Warranty covers the direct service material cost, service labour cost ($80/hr AUD) and shipping costs of the service partner. Other costs will be regarded on a case by case basis by Teknik Motorsport and TracTive.
When a claim is made under the warranty, the following conditions have to be met:
- You must have read the instructions carefully before mounting the product in the vehicle or adjusting the product.
- The product has to be installed and adjusted as described in the instructions
- The product must have been maintained and serviced in accordance with the recommendations in the manual. If not described in the manual, the recommended service intervals for regular street use: every 30.000 km or max 2 years, whichever is earlier.
- Warranty shall apply only when TracTive original parts, procedures and tools have been used to service and/or repair, and if service and repair is performed by designated TracTive partners.
- The product may not have been neglected, improperly used, altered or subjected to excessive loads. Excluded from warranty are normal wear, damage and rust.
- A sales receipt or other proof of purchase originally eminating from Teknik Motorsport Pty Ltd. No warranty will be given on TracTive or Touratech products not purchased from or through Teknik Motorsport pty ltd.
- Excluded from warranty are in particular products which are used in vehicles that are intended or suitable for taking part in sporting events, or have actually been used this way.
- Recommended service interval for Motorsport applications: every season, or every 50 hours, every 10.000km or after any perceived loss in performance.
