The Ohlins BM335 is a front mono shock for the BMW R 1100 RS, built around Ohlins STX 46 street-focused architecture. It is designed to provide consistent damping control and clearer chassis feedback for road riding. Adjustment is provided for rebound damping to help tailor the feel to your bike, load and riding conditions.

Ohlins road shocks draw on the same damping fundamentals used across the brand’s motorsport programs, refined for everyday usability. The goal is predictable support and improved control across changing surfaces and temperatures.

Shock design & features

This is a gas-charged monotube design with oil and gas separated to help maintain damping consistency. The STX 46 construction focuses on stable behaviour under braking and through corners, with a direct connection to front-end feel.

Tuning controls

Rebound damping adjustment is provided, allowing you to manage how quickly the shock extends after compressing. This is typically the primary control used to tune stability, steering feel and compliance over uneven roads.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is supplied with an Ohlins-fitted spring. Start with the installed baseline settings and make small changes one at a time, noting the effect before moving further.

Before you install

  • Confirm fitment for BMW R 1100 RS and front mono position before installation.
  • Inspect mounting hardware, bearings/bushings and related suspension components, replacing worn parts as required.
  • After installation, re-check fasteners and clearances and verify operation through full steering movement.
