The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for the Yamaha FJR 1300 is built to improve control and consistency in real-world road riding. It uses a gas-pressurised design to help maintain stable damping feel as conditions change. Adjustment functions are provided so you can tailor comfort, support and chassis behaviour to your load and riding style.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is supplied with an Ohlins baseline setting intended as a safe starting point. From there, fine-tuning rebound, compression and preload lets you balance comfort, stability and support for solo riding, luggage or a passenger.

Set static and rider sag using spring preload before chasing damping changes
Make one change at a time and test on the same stretch of road

Serviceability/lifecycle

As a rebuildable Ohlins unit, periodic servicing helps keep damping performance consistent over time. Service intervals depend on use, load and environment; touring kilometres and wet/dirty conditions generally increase the need for maintenance.
