The Ohlins HO788 is a rear TTX RT shock absorber developed for Honda CBR1000RR fitment where consistent damping control and clear chassis feedback matter. Built around Ohlins’ race-derived twin-tube damping architecture, it is aimed at riders who want dependable behaviour under heavy load changes. Tuning controls

This shock provides external adjustment for rebound damping and compression damping. These controls are intended to let you balance support, grip and feel to suit tyre choice, rider preference and track conditions.

Base setup (factory preset)

The HO788 is supplied with an Ohlins-fitted spring (21040-44) and a baseline setup intended as a starting point. From there, sag and damping can be refined to match rider weight and use.

Before you install

• Confirm clearance around the reservoir/hoses (where applicable) and ensure all fasteners are torqued to the motorcycle manufacturer’s specifications
• Set rider sag first, then adjust damping one change at a time so cause and effect are clear
• After initial rides, re-check fasteners and inspect for any contact points through full suspension travel

Serviceability/lifecycle

Ohlins shocks are designed to be serviced and revalved as needed. Regular servicing helps maintain damping consistency and internal wear control, especially with frequent track use.
