Aprilia Tuareg 660 Rally Rear Shock Upgrade Kit

The Tuareg 660 Rally is a more off-road-focused version of the standard Tuareg, but our testing showed that the rear suspension still benefits from improved control once the bike is ridden harder or used over rough terrain.

The Rally uses a 40mm monotube rear shock with a piggyback bladder and hydraulic preload adjustment. During our development work we found the standard shock provided a reasonable starting point, particularly compared with the front suspension, but there was still worthwhile performance available through revised damping and improved separation of the rebound circuit. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}

Developed specifically for the Rally

This kit has been tested and specified specifically for the Aprilia Tuareg 660 Rally. It shares much of its component architecture with our standard Tuareg rear shock kit, however the Rally has been treated as a separate application with its own dedicated specification and SKU.

Our development testing showed good results from the revised piston, rebound separation and updated shock settings, improving control without replacing the complete shock absorber.

Recommended compression adjuster upgrade

For riders wanting to get more from the standard shock, we also recommend fitting the Technix TDCA-K01 Compression Adjuster during installation of the valving kit.

During our Rally development testing, the upgraded compression adjuster improved shock response and provided useful low-speed adjustment, making it a worthwhile addition when the shock is already being serviced and revalved.

The standard Rally spring is suitable for many riders, although heavier riders, luggage or more demanding off-road use may require a different spring rate.

This is not a basic DIY installation. The shock must be disassembled and serviced to install the kit, so we recommend fitting by an experienced suspension technician if you are not already familiar with shock servicing.
