This kit has been developed to adapt the DR 650's rear suspension to Australian conditions both on road and off. We've been working on them and improving for years, with a proven track record of providing the best and most cost effective solutions.

In standard form the DR shock can't cope with any additional weight over a 75kg rider - the stock spring is really light and the dampening is minimal. The shock is a 40mm KYB unit which is compression adjustable only. While it's not the "trickest" shock out there it's a very reliable unit and easy to service, revalve and modify.

After a lot of testing, both in the shop on the shock dyno and with selected customers, we have a shock setting that makes whoops out of Finke manageable, does not beat you up on an 800km day and makes the mighty 650 a whole lot more fun to ride.

HiCalibre have developed a special coil spring just for the DR650 so no spacer is required and you get plenty of preload adjustment. Add a 20-054 HiCalibre Shock Spring suited to your weight, and the difference will transform your motorbike! Use the "FIND YOUR BIKE" in the black tab above and type in your rider weight with gear to get the right rate.

This is not a DIY kit, there is no need to modify any of the included parts, however it is not a job for you if you've never serviced a shock absorber before. If you think you'd need more guidance than the instructions provided in the photo in the listing please have a local suspension specialist fit them for you.

Included in this kit is:

  • A custom designed billet piston with an endless band and orings already installed
  • A shim stack developed specifically for the DR650
  • A new mechanical locking retaining nut
