The Ohlins YA638 TTX RT rear shock absorber is built for Yamaha YZF R1 applications where consistent damping and clear chassis feedback matter. Based on Ohlins twin-tube TTX architecture, it is designed to maintain stability and traction under demanding riding conditions. This is a gas-pressurised, oil/gas separated rear mono shock intended for precise control rather than comfort-biased compliance.

TTX RT is Ohlins’ track-focused rear shock platform, using a twin-tube damping layout to keep oil flow controlled and repeatable. The result is predictable response across long sessions and varying conditions, helping you keep the bike settled when load transfers quickly.

Tuning controls

This shock provides external adjustment for rebound damping and compression damping, allowing you to tune feel and support to match tyres, track grip and rider preference. Independent circuits help changes remain meaningful and repeatable.

Base setup (factory preset)

The YA638 is supplied with an Ohlins-fitted spring and a factory baseline intended to be a workable starting point for most riders. Fine-tuning is typically done after confirming sag and ride height for your load and use.
