The Tractive X-CITE shock for the BMW R nineT Scrambler is a pressurised, oil/gas-separated rear shock built around a sealed cartridge design for consistent damping control. It uses a remote hose reservoir to manage oil volume and temperature stability during varied riding conditions. Rebound damping adjustment is provided, with a spring fitted.

Who is this for?

  • Riders who want clear, repeatable rebound control for road and mixed-surface use.
  • Owners chasing more consistency from the rear suspension over longer rides and changing conditions.
  • Anyone prioritising a serviceable, engineered shock solution rather than a disposable unit.

Design & features

  • Closed, pressurised construction with oil/gas separation for stable damping behaviour.
  • Sealed cartridge architecture designed to keep performance consistent as the shock works hard.
  • Remote hose reservoir layout to support damping consistency during extended use.
  • Spring-equipped configuration suited to a complete rear shock replacement.

Tuning Controls

  • Rebound damping adjustment to fine-tune return speed after bumps and load changes.

Base Setup (factory preset)

This shock is supplied with a factory baseline tune intended as a starting point. Final setup depends on rider weight, typical load, and the surfaces you ride.

Serviceability/Lifecycle

Tractive’s closed, pressurised design is intended to be maintained over time rather than treated as a throwaway component. Routine servicing helps keep damping consistent as seals and oil age.

Before You Install

  • Confirm fitment for your exact BMW R nineT Scrambler variant and model year before installation.
  • Ensure the remote reservoir hose can be routed safely with clearance to heat sources and moving parts.
  • If you change ride height or load significantly, plan to re-check sag and rebound settings after installation.
