The Ohlins BM633 STX 46 Adventure rear shock is a replacement rear mono shock for the BMW G 650 Xmoto, built around Ohlins’ STX architecture for consistent damping control in mixed-surface use. It is designed to improve chassis stability and comfort when conditions change, from sealed roads to rougher tracks. Adjustment is provided externally so you can tune feel without disassembly.

Shock design & features

This is an oil/gas separated monotube design rather than an emulsion shock, helping maintain damping consistency over longer, rougher rides. As a rear mono shock, it is built to support the bike’s weight transfer under braking and acceleration while keeping the rear tyre working across variable surfaces.

Tuning controls

The BM633 includes rebound damping adjustment, compression damping adjustment, and spring preload adjustment. These controls let you balance comfort and support, and fine-tune response for different roads, loads and riding pace.

Base setup (factory preset)

It is supplied with a factory baseline setting intended to suit the standard application. Use that as your starting point, then adjust one change at a time to achieve the feel you want for your weight, luggage and typical terrain.

Before you install

Confirm correct fitment for the BMW G 650 Xmoto and inspect mounting hardware and linkage condition before installation. After fitting, set sag via preload and then refine rebound and compression to match your riding conditions.
