The Ohlins DMX0106 STX 46 MX is a rear shock unit designed for KTM 85 SX fitment. Built around Ohlins motocross damping know-how, it focuses on consistent rear-wheel contact and predictable chassis behaviour across changing track conditions. Supplied without a spring, it’s intended to be matched with the correct rate for the rider and use.

STX 46 MX rear shocks are developed for motocross and enduro applications where control and repeatability matter. The DMX0106 is a direct replacement-style unit aimed at riders who want more tuning range and serviceability than a basic OEM-style shock.

Tuning controls

This shock provides external adjustment for compression and rebound damping, allowing you to tailor feel for track surface, grip level and rider preference. Spring preload is adjusted once the correct spring is fitted.

Base setup (factory preset)

The DMX0106 is supplied with an Ohlins baseline valving setup intended for KTM 85 SX applications. Final setup should be confirmed once the correct spring rate is installed and sag is set.

Serviceability/lifecycle

As a fully serviceable Ohlins unit, the shock is designed to be maintained with routine oil and wear-part replacement to keep damping consistent. Regular servicing is recommended for motocross use where contamination and heat cycles are higher.
