The Ohlins DU324 STX 46 Supersport rear shock is a rear mono shock solution for the Ducati 749R. Built around the STX 46 Supersport platform, it’s designed to deliver consistent damping control and clear rear-tyre feedback when the pace increases. The architecture uses a gas-backed design to help maintain damping consistency as temperatures rise.

Ohlins Supersport shocks are developed with track-focused performance in mind, with a clear emphasis on damping quality and tunability. The DU324 is intended to support confident chassis behaviour under braking, mid-corner load and acceleration.

Who this shock is for

Suited to riders using their Ducati 749R for spirited road riding and track days who want more control at the rear without moving to a full race-only setup. It’s also appropriate if you want the ability to fine-tune balance to suit tyres, pace and track conditions.

Shock design & features

This is an STX 46 Supersport rear mono shock with an oil/gas separated layout. The separated gas charge helps support stable damping performance during repeated hard use compared with basic emulsion-style designs.

Tuning controls

Rebound damping adjustment to manage how quickly the shock extends after being compressed.
Compression damping adjustment to tune support under braking, corner entry loads and acceleration squat.

Before you install

Confirm the application and fitment for Ducati 749R, and ensure the mounting hardware and clearances match your bike. After installation, set rider sag and re-check fasteners after the first ride so the adjustments can be made from a known baseline.

Serviceability/lifecycle

As with all performance shocks, regular servicing helps maintain damping consistency and seal life. If performance starts to feel inconsistent or the shock has seen frequent track use, a service is recommended to restore oil condition and internal performance.
