The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for the Suzuki GSX 1100 R W is built to deliver controlled damping and consistent feedback for road use. Based on proven Ohlins suspension architecture, it is designed to improve chassis stability and traction with a more settled feel through corners and under braking. It is supplied as a complete replacement rear mono shock.

Ohlins Street shocks carry over core design principles from Ohlins motorsport development, with a focus on predictable damping control and tuneability. The aim is reliable performance and clear feedback rather than harshness, helping the bike stay composed across a range of real-world conditions.

Shock design & features

This is a gas-pressurised shock design to maintain damping consistency during use. It uses separate damping circuits for compression and rebound, supporting more precise control of chassis movement and tyre contact over bumps and load changes.

Tuning controls

Adjustability includes rebound damping and compression damping, allowing you to balance grip, stability and support to suit your riding and set-up. Spring preload adjustment is also provided to help set ride height and sag correctly for rider weight and use.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is delivered with an Ohlins baseline setting intended to work as a starting point for the model fitment. Final adjustment should be carried out after setting sag and confirming overall geometry, then refined based on tyre choice and riding conditions.

Before you install

Confirm linkage condition, swingarm bearings and mounting hardware are in good order before installation, as wear in these areas can mask suspension performance. After fitment, re-check fastener torque, chain alignment and clearance through the suspension travel.
