The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for the Kawasaki Versys 650 is built to give you more consistent damping control and clearer chassis feedback on the road. It uses a 46 mm piston design with a separate gas and oil arrangement to help maintain damping stability as conditions change. This unit is intended as a direct-fit replacement for the standard rear mono shock.

Base setup (factory preset)

This shock is supplied with an Ohlins-recommended baseline setup. From there, fine-tuning rebound damping and preload is typically all that’s required to match your tyres, load and riding conditions.

Before you install

  • Confirm clearance and hose/cable routing around the shock and linkage during full suspension travel
  • Set sag with your normal riding load, then adjust rebound to suit the new spring and damping response
  • If fitting to a bike used with and without luggage, note your preload settings for repeatability

Serviceability/lifecycle

Ohlins shocks are designed to be serviced, with wear components and oil replaced as part of routine maintenance. Regular servicing helps keep damping consistent and extends component life.
