The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for the Ducati Monster 1200R is built to deliver controlled, consistent damping for spirited road riding. It uses a pressurised, oil/gas-separated design to help maintain stable damping behaviour as conditions change. Developed from Ohlins track experience, it focuses on clear chassis feedback and predictable support through braking, turn-in and corner exit.

STX is Ohlins’ road-focused shock platform, designed to bring a more composed ride and better control without compromising day-to-day usability. On the Monster 1200R, it’s aimed at riders who want a more settled rear end and improved confidence when riding harder.

Tuning controls

This unit provides external damping adjustment for both rebound and compression, allowing you to tune how the rear responds over bumps and how it settles after load changes. It also includes spring preload adjustment to set ride height and balance for rider weight and typical use.

Base setup (factory preset)

The shock is delivered with an Ohlins baseline setting intended as a starting point for street riding. From there, small changes to rebound, compression and preload can be used to match tyre choice, road conditions and personal preference.

Before you install

This is a rear mono shock for the Ducati Monster 1200R. Professional installation is recommended, followed by checking sag and confirming the adjusters are set to a sensible baseline before fine-tuning on familiar roads.

Serviceability/lifecycle

Like all performance dampers, the STX 46 Street shock is a serviceable component. Periodic oil and seal servicing helps maintain damping consistency and ensures the adjusters continue to work as intended over time.
