The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock for the Suzuki GSX 1300 R Hayabusa is built to deliver controlled damping and consistent chassis behaviour in real-world road riding. It uses a gas-charged, oil/gas separated design to help maintain damping stability as conditions change. Designed as a rear mono shock, it provides practical adjustability for riders who want to refine feel without turning the bike into a compromise.

STX 46 Street units are developed from Ohlins racing experience and tuned for street use. The focus is predictable support, clean feedback and repeatable adjustments for everyday performance riding.

Who this shock is for

Suited to Hayabusa riders chasing improved control and confidence over varied road surfaces. It’s also a good fit if you want a wider tuning range than typical stock suspension can offer.

Shock design & features

This is a gas-pressurised, oil/gas separated rear mono shock intended to resist fade and maintain consistent damping. The architecture supports stable damping performance and a more planted rear end during acceleration and braking transitions.

Tuning controls

Adjustments are provided for rebound damping and compression damping. The shock also includes a hydraulic spring preload adjuster, allowing preload changes without removing the shock.

Before you install

Check clearances around the shock body and reservoir area and confirm hose routing and access to adjusters on your bike. After installation, set sag and then fine-tune rebound and compression one change at a time so you can clearly feel each adjustment.

Serviceability/lifecycle

Like all performance dampers, it’s designed to be serviced to keep damping consistent over time. Periodic oil and seal service will help maintain control and reduce wear, especially if the bike sees frequent spirited riding.
