The Ohlins YA353 is a rear mono shock for the Yamaha FJR 1300, built around the STX 46 Street platform. It’s designed to deliver consistent damping control and clearer chassis feedback across typical road conditions. This unit uses a separated oil/gas design to help maintain damping stability as temperatures and loads change.

Who this shock is for

Shock design & features
This is an STX 46 Street rear shock with a piston-based damping layout and a separated oil/gas system for consistent performance. The architecture is intended to reduce fade and keep damping response repeatable during extended rides.
Tuning controls
The YA353 provides external rebound damping adjustment and compression damping adjustment, allowing you to balance support and comfort for your riding conditions. These controls help fine-tune chassis attitude and grip feel without changing internal valving.
Serviceability/lifecycle
As an Ohlins unit, this shock is built to be maintained and reconditioned over its service life. Periodic servicing helps keep damping performance consistent and allows the setup to be refreshed as the bike’s use or loading changes.
