The Ohlins YA534 is a rear street shock for Yamaha road models, built around the STX 46 architecture for stable, predictable damping on everyday roads. It is a gas-pressurised design with separated oil and gas to help maintain consistent feel as conditions change. The aim is improved chassis control and clearer feedback without making the bike harsh.

Developed for riders who want a more controlled rear end on the road, with the refinement and service support expected from an Ohlins unit. It’s intended to improve stability under braking, through corners and during rapid load transitions.

Base setup (factory preset)

Supplied with an Ohlins spring fitted from factory. For best results, set sag and adjust damping from the supplied baseline to suit your weight, tyres and typical road speeds.

Before you install

Confirm fitment for your exact model and year before installation.
Check linkage condition and bearings while the shock is out.
After installation, re-check fastener torque and verify full range of motion with no interference.

Serviceability/lifecycle

This is a fully rebuildable Ohlins shock. Periodic oil and seal service helps keep damping performance consistent and extends component life, particularly if the bike sees wet conditions or higher kilometres.
