Information

The Ohlins YA557 STX 36 Twin rear shock package is built for the Yamaha XJR 1300 and suited to riders who want more composure, grip and feel from the back of the bike. It uses a pressurised damping design to keep damping consistent as conditions change. Adjustment is provided for rebound and compression damping, plus length for ride-height tuning.

Ohlins | Made to race, perfected to ride

Ohlins street shocks draw on race-developed damping knowledge, then are configured for real-road use. The result is improved control through corners, better traction on exit, and more stable behaviour under load changes.

Shock design & features

STX 36 Twin rear shock configuration for twin-shock applications
Pressurised oil/gas design (not an emulsion shock) to support consistent damping
Supplied with matched springs as fitted by Ohlins for this application

Tuning controls

Rebound damping adjustment to manage return speed after bumps and load transfer
Compression damping adjustment to control squat and support under acceleration and braking
Length adjustment to fine-tune rear ride height and chassis attitude

Base setup (factory preset)

This unit is delivered with an Ohlins baseline setup intended to be a safe starting point for the XJR 1300. From there, fine adjustment can be made to match tyres, load, road surface and rider preference.

Before you install

Confirm correct fitment for your Yamaha XJR 1300 model and year, and check clearance around exhaust and guards
Set sag and verify full travel clearance before riding
After installation, re-check fasteners and alignment after the first rides
