The Ohlins YA723 STX 46 Street rear shock is built for riders who want more controlled damping and clearer feel from the rear of the bike in everyday street use, with the headroom for faster riding. It uses a gas-pressurised damping system to maintain consistency as conditions and pace change. The result is more predictable chassis behaviour under load changes such as braking, corner entry and acceleration.

Tuning controls

This shock provides external damping adjustment for both rebound and compression, allowing you to balance support and comfort to suit your tyres, roads and riding style. Spring preload adjustment is also provided to set ride height and sag correctly.

Base setup (factory preset)

Delivered with an Ohlins baseline setting intended to work as a starting point on a standard Yamaha FZ6 S2. From there, small damping and preload changes can be used to match rider weight, luggage and typical road surface.

Before you install

Confirm correct fitment for Yamaha FZ6 S2 and plan to set sag after installation. If you change tyres, load, or ride conditions, rechecking sag and damping settings will help keep the rear end balanced with the front.

Serviceability/lifecycle

As with other Ohlins units, periodic servicing helps maintain damping consistency and seal life. Regular inspection and oil service intervals should be based on use conditions, kilometres and how hard the bike is ridden.
