The Ohlins YA788 TTX RT rear shock is built to give your Yamaha YZF R1 more consistent damping control and clearer rear-tyre feedback. It uses a pressurised design to help maintain stable performance as temperatures and loads change. With separate compression and rebound circuits, it supports careful tuning for road and track use without relying on vague “one size fits all” settings.

TTX RT is developed from Ohlins’ racing shock architecture, focused on predictable damping behaviour and repeatability. The intent is stable chassis balance under braking and acceleration, with damping you can tune logically as conditions change.

Base setup (factory preset)

This shock is supplied with an Ohlins baseline tune intended as a starting point for the R1 platform. From there, compression, rebound and preload can be refined to suit tyres, pace and typical surface conditions.

Before you install

Confirm clearance and access to adjusters once fitted, and set sag before making damping changes. If your bike has been lowered/raised or runs non-standard linkage geometry, start with preload/sag and chassis balance first, then fine-tune damping.

Serviceability/lifecycle

Like all performance dampers, regular servicing helps maintain oil condition, gas pressure and internal wear items for consistent behaviour over time. Plan periodic inspection and refresh intervals based on usage intensity and track time.
