The Ohlins YA513 STX 36 twin rear shock is built for riders who want more controlled damping behaviour from the Yamaha V-Max without compromising ride quality. It uses a pressurised monotube layout to keep the damping consistent as conditions and temperature change. The result is a more settled chassis feel across acceleration, braking and cornering loads.

Developed from Ohlins racing know-how, the STX platform focuses on stable damping control and predictable feedback. This helps the rear tyre stay in contact with the road when the bike is working hard.

Who this shock is for

Suited to street riders who want sharper chassis control and the ability to tune the rear suspension to their riding style. It also makes sense for owners carrying varied loads or riding across mixed road surfaces where adjustability is valuable.

Shock design & features

This is a gas-pressurised monotube shock design rather than an emulsion-style unit, helping resist fade and maintain consistent damping. The STX 36 twin-shock format is intended for rear applications that use a pair of shocks.

Tuning controls

Adjustability includes compression damping and rebound damping, allowing you to balance support and comfort and refine how the rear recovers after bumps. Spring preload adjustment is also provided to set ride height and sag correctly for rider and load.
