Shock design & features

This is an STX 36 Street rear mono shock with an internal damping layout designed for consistent response and stability. It uses a gas-pressurised system to help reduce foaming and maintain damping consistency as conditions change. The valving is aimed at improving traction and control during aggressive riding and braking transitions.

Tuning controls

This shock provides external adjustment for rebound damping and compression damping, allowing you to tailor the response to your tyres, riding style and typical road surface. It also includes spring preload adjustment to set the correct ride height and sag for the rider and load.

Before you install

Check that your linkage and swingarm bearings are smooth and correctly greased, as worn hardware can mask the benefits of a quality shock. After installation, set sag and then fine-tune damping in small steps, making one change at a time. If the bike is used across very different conditions, keep notes so you can return to a known good baseline.

Serviceability/lifecycle
