The Ohlins YA888 TTX RT rear shock absorber is designed as a direct-fit rear mono shock upgrade for the Yamaha YZF R1. Built around Ohlins’ TTX architecture, it’s aimed at riders chasing repeatable damping control and clear tyre feedback. The focus is stable chassis behaviour under load and consistent performance through longer, harder sessions.

TTX RT technology is drawn from Ohlins’ racing program and packaged for serious track and fast-road use. This unit is intended to give a broader, more usable tuning window than a basic OE-style shock, with predictable response when you make setup changes.

Shock design & features

This is a gas-pressurised shock with oil and gas separated for consistent damping behaviour and reduced fade as temperatures rise. The TTX layout uses separate damping circuits to help maintain control across a wide range of track conditions and riding styles.

Tuning controls

Adjustability is provided for rebound damping and compression damping, allowing you to balance support, grip and chassis attitude to suit tyres, pace and circuit conditions. These external adjustments are intended to make systematic setup changes straightforward and repeatable.

Confirm correct fitment for your Yamaha YZF R1 application before installation
Check that the fitted spring (listed as 21040-31) suits rider mass and intended use
