The Ohlins STX 46 Street rear shock is built to improve control and feel on the Yamaha XJ 6 in everyday road use. It uses a monotube layout with a separated gas and oil system to keep damping consistent as conditions change. Developed from Ohlins road and race suspension know-how, it is intended to deliver more predictable chassis behaviour without compromising practicality.

STX road shocks are designed around stable damping performance and clear feedback through the rear tyre. On the XJ 6, this supports calmer mid-corner balance and more controlled weight transfer during braking and acceleration.

Suited to XJ 6 riders who want a higher-quality rear shock for road riding, including bikes with or without ABS. It’s a fit for riders looking to tune rear ride quality and control rather than rely on a one-size factory compromise.

Shock design & features

This is a monotube shock with a pressurised gas system that keeps the oil and gas separated for more consistent damping behaviour. The STX architecture is designed to manage heat and maintain stable response over longer rides.

Tuning controls

Adjustability includes rebound damping, letting you fine-tune how the rear settles after bumps and during transitions. Compression damping is not adjustable on this model.
