The Tractive X-TREME shock for the Honda XL750 Transalp is a closed, pressurised rear shock designed for consistent damping control across changing conditions. Its architecture uses a separated oil and gas layout to reduce aeration and keep performance stable on long, rough rides. This model includes a remote reservoir and a hydraulic preload adjuster, allowing load changes to be managed without tools.

Design & features

  • Closed, pressurised design with oil and gas separation to help maintain consistent damping and reduce fade.
  • Remote reservoir configuration to support stable damping behaviour under sustained use.
  • Supplied with a spring and hydraulic preload adjuster for practical load and luggage changes.

Tuning Controls

  • Triple-adjustable damping: rebound and both low- and high-speed compression adjustment.
  • Hydraulic preload adjustment for fast ride-height/load support changes via the preload system (not a damping adjustment).

Base Setup (factory preset)

This shock is supplied with a baseline setup from Tractive intended to provide a balanced starting point for general use. Fine-tuning can be done using the external adjusters to suit rider mass, luggage and typical terrain.

Who is this for?

  • Riders who vary load (solo, luggage, or passenger) and want quick preload changes.
  • Owners looking for broader tuning range with separate rebound, low-speed compression and high-speed compression control.
  • Adventure and mixed-surface riders wanting consistent damping from a pressurised, separated oil/gas shock layout.

Before You Install

  • Confirm compatibility with your Honda XL750 Transalp model year and any accessories that may affect clearance around the remote reservoir and preload adjuster routing.
  • After installation, set sag and then fine-tune damping adjusters in small steps to match your typical riding conditions.

Serviceability/Lifecycle

As a closed, pressurised shock with a separated oil and gas system, it is designed to be serviced to maintain performance over time. Regular inspection for leaks, bushing wear, and hose/reservoir condition (where applicable) is recommended as part of routine maintenance.
